A classic Hoya, Hoya carnosa features classic-looking waxy green leaves that fold slightly at the center and thick, long stems. Hoyas are epiphytic and thus can be mounted, as well. They will climb anything they can reach and like all Hoyas, Hoya carnosa produces blooms that appear as though they are made of porcelain- light pink with dark pink centers in the case of Hoya carnosa.*Photo of 6" hanging plant is for reference only- actual plant may vary.
Hoya carnosa CARE:
Bright indirect light. Can adapt to medium light, though blooms will not develop in medium light.
Place in pot with drainage. Allow to dry out all the way down between waterings. When leaves begin to pucker, it’s time to water.
This species will climb if given something to grab onto (including its own vines or plant hanger- ha ha). To encourage blooms, allow to become slightly root bound.
Once blooms are spent, DO NOT cut off the point they emerge from (called a 'peduncle'), as Hoyas re-bloom from the same peduncle year after year.
