Part-Time Shop supervisor

Responsibilities may include (but aren't limited to):

  • Assisting customers in the shop 
  • Answering plant questions/making recommendations
  • Prepping plants for the sales floor
  • Creating product displays/merchandising
  • Assisting with daily social media posts
  • Maintaining inventory system
  • Updating plant care cards/database
  • Representing Folia at pop-up shops & events

Skills/experience required for this position:

  • Friendly and welcoming attitude
  • Passion for and broad knowledge of indoor plants and their care. Ability to diagnose care problems, identify pests, etc 
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfort with (or willing to learn) Mac products, Google Apps (Drive, Sheets, etc), and Dropbox. 
  • Accurate cash handling
  • Management experience (at least at a supervisor level)

Added bonus skills/experience:

  • Good eye for merchandising, design, etc
  • Proficiency with a DSLR camera 
  • Some knowledge of Photoshop
  • Comfort with web platforms like SquareSpace, Shopify, etc. 
  • Writing skills
  • Interior design interest/experience
  • Formal botany or horticulture training

Freelance Junior Graphic designer

Responsibilities may include (but aren't limited to):

  • Design and creation of a variety of branding assets, both for digital and print use
  • Adaptation of existing branding for new uses
  • Surface pattern design using both existing and new design elements
  • Working with other team members to create and apply brand consistency standards

Skills/experience required for this position:

  • Good understanding of the Folia brand identity
  • Comfort in Adobe Creative Suite (especially PhotoShop and Ilustrator)
  • Ability to work with other people's designs as well as create your own
  • Previous experience with retail brands 

Added bonus skills/experience:

  • Photography skills/comfort with DSLR camera
  • Video experience

You must have your own computer for this role. Work may be conducted off-site, but you must be local for projects that require in-person meetings, etc. Pay is negotiable depending upon experience and the project.
